Vocabulary Quiz

Scientists are trying and successfully have found ways to cultivate crops and other domesticated plants like flowers in one sedentary area where people can easily access it in urban areas such as New York City.

I personally think that vertical farming will help solve some problems in the energy crisis but not all of them. This method could help us stop our dependance on oil due to the fact that we wouldn't need to ship crops from the countryside to the city because we will be growing them in the city. Also using solar power for the crops would a determinant in using solar power over oil and electricity. It solve enivironmental problems as well. For example, more plants in a polluted urban area would be mean more oxygen and less carbon dioxide thus reducing global warming and making the air cleaner. Also due to the fact that they are growing them inside solar green houses would prevent insects and weather hazards would interfearing with the crops. Also due this, it would stop the use of pesticides thus making higher quality and healther food, making people eat like deities!

I thought the idea of farming crops in urban areas is brilliant because it would bring food closer to home making food would make less expensive and fresher. Soon the idea of shipping crops from the countryside with trucks would sound quite primitive. Another idea I wished they put in the article was that they could irrigate sewage to use as fertilizer for the crops thus making the soil used to plant the crops more fertile, making beaches near those areas cleaner, and putting freshwater that is wasted to good use.
